The Proposal

Carrie is absent today.

We are working on our proposal today so that we can present it to student affairs...
We are going to email student affairs in order to set-up a meeting.
We will bring our proposal to class on Tues so we can have Skye look over it.

Crossing Borders
Scholarship Proposal

We are a group of students in Skye Gentiles communication 2 class who have been given the opportunity to create and complete a leadership project of our choice. For our project we have decided to establish an annual scholarship that aims at hosting a student who doesn’t have the resources or support yet is striving to pursue a higher education. We believe that all people deserve and bare the right to achieve their educational goals, educating oneself is not a luxury but a right, and we are dedicated to providing at least one more outlet for making these goals a reality.

We have created the following requirements for the scholarship applicants to be considered to be rewarded with the scholarship:
o 3.0 GPA
o In good standing at current school
o Required to take a Communications course while enrolled at Cabrillo
o Prove low-income status
o Write an essay describing why you deserve scholarship
• Essay or
• Video entry

We are going to try to find a school to get in contact with to become a sister school with to help advertise the scholarship to their students.

We are going to fundraise money through sponsorships, a silent art auction, and other fund raising techniques.

Our goal is for this to be a positive learning experience for the selected student that allows them to achieve their educational goals.
